Adwoa Agyeman is a seasoned professional with over 12 years of experience within the global philanthropic sector, specializing in grants management, organizational strengthening, resource mobilization, partnership development, and strategic programming. As co-founder of Epic-Africa, she works to make grantmaking in Africa more effective by strengthening civil society organizations on the continent. Previously, Ms. Agyeman streamlined operations and expanded programmatic outreach at Trust Africa in her role as the foundation’s first Grants Manager. Before that, at the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, she helped establish a grant-making department as the Washington D.C.-based organization shifted from being domestically focused to challenging the tobacco industry around the world. Ms. Agyeman began her career as Senior Program Associate responsible for programs related to women’s rights, reproductive health, and economic justice at the Moriah Fund, a U.S.-based foundation that seeks to promote human rights and social justice. Ms. Agyeman holds a B.A. from Smith College in Government, with a minor in African Studies.
